Stone fruit & citrus aromas, floral notes, herbaceous touches and a sweet spicy background. On the palate it is full, refreshing, with good acidity and a fine and round finish.
Carlania is a family project located in Barberà de la Conca that has been cultivating vineyards generation after generation. In 2007, they decided to make their own wines. An honest initiative with a focus on working with the native Trepat variety, cultivating according to biodynamic principles and vinifying in the most natural way possible.
Each of the Carlania Sant Pere d’Ambigats varieties are pressed separately to obtain the free-run juice. Fermentation then takes place with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 to 18ºC. During this process, 30% of the Macabeo variety is placed in chestnut barrels. Once fermentation has finished, it is allowed to rest with its lees for 3 months, with frequent battonage. It is finally bottled without being clarified, filtered or adding sulphites.
